At Evervet Veterinary Clinic, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all vaccination. Instead, we offer personalised, evidence-based vaccination plans to ensure your pet receives only what they need nothing more, nothing less.

Our approach includes:

  • Only essential vaccines, based on lifestyle, breed, and risk exposure

  • Titre testing for core vaccines, helping avoid unnecessary boosters

  • Education on Singapore-specific risks, like leptospirosis from urban rats and standing water

Why vaccination matters, especially in Singapore

Just like children, puppies and kittens need protection while their immune systems are still developing. Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to safeguard your pet against dangerous viral and bacterial infections including Canine Parvovirus, Distemper, and Feline Panleukopenia.

But protection doesn’t end after the first year. Regular booster vaccines are essential to maintain strong immunity throughout adulthood and into the senior years.

Recommended puppy and kitten vaccination schedule

Following WSAVA guidelines, we recommend:

  • First dose: 8 weeks of age

  • Second dose: 12 weeks

  • Final booster: 16 weeks

*If vaccinations start earlier than 8 weeks, boosters should be given every 3–4 weeks, with the last dose no earlier than 16 weeks old.

But why wait until 16 weeks for the final booster?

Puppies and kittens receive maternal antibodies from their mother. These antibodies can block vaccine effectiveness in early weeks. By around 16 weeks, maternal antibodies have usually waned, allowing the vaccine to trigger a proper immune response and build long-lasting protection.

Worried about over-vaccination? We hear you.

At Evervet, we understand many pet parents want to minimise unnecessary vaccines while still keeping their pets protected.

That’s why we offer vaccine antibody titre testing for core diseases such as:

  • Distemper, Parvovirus, and Adenovirus (dogs)

  • Panleukopenia, Herpesvirus, Calicivirus (cats)

Titre testing is especially helpful for pets with:

  • A history of vaccine reactions

  • Chronic illness or autoimmune conditions

  • Owners seeking a more holistic or minimal vaccine protocol

Leptospirosis: A serious risk in Singapore’s climate

Leptospirosis is a life-threatening bacterial infection transmitted through rat urine, often found in puddles, drains, and soil in Singapore’s humid, urban environment.

Key facts:

  • Dogs can be infected by drinking, licking, or walking through contaminated water or soil

  • It can lead to kidney or liver failure, and can spread to humans (zoonotic)

  • There is no titre test available. Protection only lasts up to a year

At Evervet, we strongly recommend annual leptospirosis vaccination for all dogs in Singapore, especially those who go outdoors, walk in parks, or live in landed or urban areas.
